With a name like John Smith we figured he needed a pen name! John is the father of ten, married to Vickie Smith for 35+ years. His first book was Confessions of a Butcher-eat steak on a hamburger budget and save$$$, now in it’s third printing. He also appeared on Extreme Cheapskates with his family.

After dabbling in nonfiction with Confessions and writing for the Standard Journal newspaper in Rexburg, Idaho, he began the journey of writing fiction. John’s always been good at spinning yarns starting back in elementary school where he’d improvise on his assignments and draw out his stories until the bell rang.

John has since written 6 books, two are in print- Confessions and Makin My Way, a coming of age novel set in Portland, Oregon in the sixties.
